Is microneedling painful? +

A medical-grade numbing cream is applied before treatment, making the procedure very comfortable. Most clients describe a mild vibrating sensation rather than pain. The complimentary Dermalux LED at the end of the session is entirely relaxing.

How is the Advanced Regen different from microneedling alone? +

Microneedling alone delivers real, measurable collagen stimulation. Adding Ameela exosomes means the micro-channels are immediately flooded with growth factors and PDRN, amplifying skin regeneration significantly. The complimentary Dermalux LED (worth £65, included at no extra cost) then accelerates recovery and extends collagen activity. The combined treatment produces stronger results in fewer sessions, with less downtime.

What is the downtime after treatment? +

Expect redness similar to mild sunburn for 24–48 hours. Skin may feel tight and slightly sensitive for up to 72 hours. Mild dryness or flaking can occur around day 5. Most clients return to normal activities the following day, wearing SPF and a gentle moisturiser.

How many sessions will I need? +

One session produces a visible improvement. For acne scars, pigmentation or significant textural concerns, a course of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart produces transformative results. For general skin quality and anti-ageing maintenance, 2–3 sessions per year is a well-tolerated ongoing protocol.

What are Ameela exosomes? +

Ameela is a next-generation regenerative treatment containing 120 billion plant-derived exosomes (grapefruit and watermelon) combined with wild-salmon PDRN. Exosomes are nano-sized cellular messengers carrying growth factors, peptides and regenerative proteins. When applied after microneedling they penetrate deep into the dermis, significantly enhancing skin repair and collagen production.

Can I use retinol before my appointment? +

Stop retinoids (retinol, retinal, tretinoin), AHAs and vitamin C 5–7 days before your appointment. Avoid any active exfoliants or chemical peels for 2 weeks prior. On the day, arrive with clean, product-free skin. We will advise you on resuming your routine after treatment.

Is microneedling suitable for acne-prone skin? +

Yes — SkinPen microneedling is well-documented for improving both active acne and acne scarring. We advise against treatment during an active breakout with open lesions. If you have active acne, please let us know when booking and we will advise on the best protocol for your skin.

Post-Treatment Care

Aftercare

First 24 hours

Rest the skin

No skincare, makeup, SPF, sweating, heat, or sun exposure. Do not touch the face. Cool water only if needed. Apply only recommended barrier serums (Bepanthen or Rescue).

Days 1–3

Calm & hydrate

Gentle cleanser, hyaluronic acid, moisturiser and SPF only. Avoid all actives — retinoids, acids, vitamin C. No heat, exercise or steam.

Days 4–7

Skin renews

Continue gentle routine with daily SPF. Skin may flake lightly — do not exfoliate or pick. The glow becomes visible during this window.

After 7 days

Return to routine

Gradually reintroduce your regular skincare. Collagen production continues for weeks — protect results with daily SPF30+ minimum and avoid prolonged sun exposure.
